Pangong Tso

This is one of the most beautiful sights one will ever see. The insanely huge lake with picture perfect mountains as backdrop is just too mesmerizing a view.
If one is visiting Pangong, a night stay is a must so as to properly absorb the beauty of the place after a back-breaking 4 hour drive from Leh. Stay at one of the lake side camps or put up your own tent somewhere and notice the changes in colors of the lake during the day.

After getting identified under the Ramsar Convention as a wetland of international importance, Pangong Lake will become the first trans-boundary wetland in South Asia.

Pangong Tso, Tibetan for "high grassland lake", also referred to as Pangong Lake, is an endorheic lake in the Himalayas situated at a height of about 4,350 m (14271 ft). It is 134 km long and extends from India to the Tibetan Autonomous Region, China.
