White River Rafting In Rishikesh

This time we decided for some fun and adventure, so we planned for Rishikesh trip to do River Rafting and Camping. This was the awesome trip with my best buddy Sanjay, Brijesh and Rohit. We hired the car for two days and left from Noida in mid night of May 2013 around 2 am (I didn't remember the date of journey).

We reached Rishikesh in the next day of morning. Our camp was in Shivpuri, around 12-16 km ahead from Rishikesh. We had booked camping and rafting in advance, so didn't face any problem. This package included breakfast, lunch, camping, rafting, evening snacks with bonfire, dinner and next day breakfast and cost of this package was Rs 1500 per person. After refreshment, we had breakfast and taken rest for an hour.

Around 12 pm we were ready for river rafting; our rafting distance was 20 km. So, we went 10 km ahead from our camp by car which provided by camp organizer. Nine people were in our rafting group including one helper. Helper started little training and given some command. Rafting is full of adventure and fun activity, but not easy. All of us were very excited and little fare too.

Ready for Rafting

Rafting Time

After some photo session, we started rafting and realize that this was not an easy task because you should follow proper command said by helper and everyone wants to help. Main adventure was started when rafting boat was passing through rapid. In the rapid, some time we felt like we were gone. In half an hour, we complete 8km journey and reached near our camp. Now helper stopped the boat and said we should take lunch and then we will start rafting again.

We had lunch and ready for rafting, lunch was good. After 20-30 minute gap, we started rafting again. This time raining was started, so now our adventure got double. Our rafting boat was passing through a lot of big rapid and then helper stop the boat and said anyone interested to jump into water. So all of us jumped into water with help of rope and enjoyed a lot. Jumping into 20-30 meter deep water was really trilling, but more fun.

After 15-20 minute later, we again stopped for Maggi Point. After a small halt, we started rafting again. Finally, we reached at the end point and ready to come back into camp (Now raining was stopped). We felt cold due to wet clothes and wind, so first we had tea and then return to camp.

Our Camp also had some game facility like Volleyball, so we also played. After playing volleyball, I went to my tent and got deep sleep. In that time Sanjay, Rohit and Brijesh done a photo session and captured a lot of pics. In the evening around 7pm, we sit around the bonfire and enjoyed the snacks. There were 15-20 camps, and all camps having the non electricity lamp for lighting. Whole area was looking superb in the night. Our camp was near river; water level and flow was high in the night. So you didn't require any music because river flow sound was good enough to relax your mind. We took dinner after 2-3 hours of enjoyment and then ready to sleep.

Next day in the morning, we had breakfast and then ready to checkout from camp. Overall experience for rafting and camping was awesome. Now we went to see the Laxman Jhula (Hanging Bridge in Rishikesh) and some temples. After some sight seen, we came to the Haridwar and taken dips in Ganga River. Haridwar offer a lot of temples to see, but we didn't have much time due to getting late. We just walked only in local market and moved towards Roorkee to attend friend's marriage called Deepak.

After attending marriage, we returned to Delhi. This was really a great experience, but left a lot of things in Haridwar and Rishikesh. Anyone from Delhi-NCR can enjoy this adventure trip in weekend. We never forgot this type of trip and awesome moment.

Thanks for reading my experience.
