Seven Sister is one of the most popular waterfalls in Sikkim. It's located on the Gangtok-Lachung Highway, around 32 kilometres away from Gangtok. As the name suggests, the seven different waterfalls harmoniously arranged sideways on a wide rugged cliff seem distinct if watched from a distance. It becomes a must see place in Gangtok after rains when the falls come into a fierce life offering an awe-inspiring view. The gurgling water of the fall plunges out of the lush green vegetation plastering the rugged cliffs, falls over the limestones making a thunderous sound. The picturesque beauty of the fall makes it tourist’s stopping point to relax and rejuvenate. The prismatic view of the setting sun allures the visitors to fall into a long photography session. Every monsoon the fall receives huge visitors hanging cameras on their sides. It is the tourist's hotspot who are keen into photography. It is also an ideal picnic spot for families with kids. The Tourism and Civil Aviation Department has built a waiting shed and cafeteria for people to refresh themselves and shoot pictures of this nature’s wonderland.

Along with this, there are several other worthy stop waterfalls on the way, one of them is the Banjhakri falls that is equally rejuvenating and refreshing. Tashi View Point; constructed by the late king of Sikkim-Tashi Namgyal is another popular place one can visit while being in Gangtok to have the pristine views of the hills along with Mt. Kanchenjunga. For the Hindu religion followers, there is a well known Hanuman Tok temple which is looked after by the Indian Army. While for the followers of Buddhism, the Enchey Monastery is worth a visit to witness its unique architecture - Chinese Pagoda style design, and then the Sa-Ngor-Chotshog Centre, another charming monastery located on the hilltop. The Namgyal Institute of Tibetology; an important centre to carry out researches on Buddhist philosophy and religion, is situated quite close to Enchey Monastery. As for the nature lovers and the trekkers, Nathula Pass is the place to be.
It is a high mountain pass that connects the Indian state of Sikkim and China. Whereas the wildlife enthusiasts can quench their thirst for the thrill by visiting to the Himalayan Zoological Park, established to preserve the wildlife in their natural habitat.

Located 32 kilometres away from Gangtok, it takes around 40 minutes to drive to travel to Seven Sister Waterfall. One can hire a taxi to visit this magnificent location bestowed with nature’s epic beauty.
Best Time To Visit:
The Seven Sister Waterfall are best visited during monsoon in the months May-July when its seven segments are visible in full fledge. This beautiful Waterfall also seems amazing when the snow is melting.
