Mughal Garden - A Royal Retreat of Beauty and Tranquility

The Mughal Gardens are a group of beautiful gardens built by the Mughals in Islamic style of architectures which is located in the Rashtrapati Bhavan premises and is the official residence of the Indian President. Mughal gardens is one of the most famous parks and gardens in Delhi.

It was designed by Sir Edwin Lutynes for Lady Harding, occupies an area of 13 acres and is divided into three sections (rectangular, long and circular garden) and sports a blend of the formal Mughal style with the design of a British Garden.

Mughal style canals, fountains and terraces and chatris adorn the landscape of the garden, along with flower beds, hedges and a large variety of trees and flowers like roses, marigold, bougainvillea, sweet william, viscaria etc among many others.

The garden has four waterways with uniquely crafted fountains at their intersections that consist of 3 tiered huge red sandstone discs that resemble lotus leaves. The chequered flowerbeds lend an enchanting look to this wonderfully landscaped garden. With in the campus, there are many small and big lawns, like Pearl garden, butterfly garden and circular garden. The circular garden is the place which is beautified with massed segmental and tiered flower beds and is considered the best place to see butterflies. ID Proof(compulsory) : You may have to asked to show an ID Proof due to security reason, so you should take at least one ID proof(pan card, aadhar card, voter ID or Driving License or any other ID card) for your convenience.

Timings : 9:30 am to 4:00 pm.(Note*- Open on Feb 5 to March 15 for the public)
